Virginia QB interested in several schools

Richmond (Va.) Benedictine School quarterback Greg Petrohovich has already put a lot of thought into the recruiting process. Now it's just a matter of letting everything sort itself out.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound pro-style quarterback has been contacted by a few programs and he's hoping he is able to pick up some offers before the start of his senior season.

Greg and his twin brother Drew Petrohovich will be counted on as key contributors for Benedictine next year, but right now Greg's focus is on improving his stock.
"A couple of schools have either come by Benedictine or indicated that they will in the near future," Petrohovich said. "The University of Richmond has gotten game film. They're a school that I am very interested in."
Coaches from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Delaware, William & Mary, James Madison, Boston College and others have shown interest and are likely to take trips to the school. Petrohovich said he has also received handwritten letters from UCLA and Kansas State.
"I would like to go to several junior days," he continued. "I am hoping for invitations from schools like Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Tennessee and others.
"Each school has great aspects about them. Some play in front of very large crowds and are very big schools. That would be a lot of fun, but I also like some of the smaller schools because of the smaller classes and you get to know everyone on campus.
"Schools like Kentucky, Tennessee, Duke, Wake Forest and North Carolina have such a great tradition of providing top-notch educations and great school unity. All of those schools also provide an opportunity to play in top conferences where I would play with and against some of the top players in the country. That would be a dream come true.
"Finally, the students really support their football programs. To be a part of that tradition would be awesome."
He likes three of the schools that are very close to home, and went on to talk a bit about those.
"A few of the schools I like for more personal reasons. My mom's cousins all graduated from UNC and have always told me what a great school it is. I got a chance to see the school a couple of times when visiting them. One of their weddings was actually on campus, which was very cool.
"Of course, Virginia Tech and UVa are also very high on my list. My grandfather played for Tech in the 1950's, and Drew and I were able to attend their one-day camp last year. I really like the coaches and their program. Coach O'Cain really likes my size and accuracy throwing the ball.
"We also attended UVa's one-day camp last year and met their coaches. They were awesome. I worked out with Ross Metheny while I was there. Mike Groh was very helpful and liked my size and accuracy.
"What I liked about my visits last year was that prior to my junior year I got a chance to work out with some of the best QB's around, and even though they were a year older I did very well and realized that I can definitely compete at the next level."
It would be natural to assume that Greg and his twin brother Drew would want to attend the same college together. That's something they have talked about, but apparently it's negotiable.
"Some of the schools are looking at both my brother and me," Greg said. "If we end up going to the school school that would be great, but we both know that we need to find the best environment for both of us."
