Virginia QB favors UVA, Duke

Brent Locey is one of Virginia's top passers and is showing interest in several schools. Who's high on his list?
"My leaders have changed somewhat," said the 6-foot-5, 210 pound quarterback. "UVA is one of my favorites and Duke is still up there. I'm also looking at Northwestern, Maryland and then Yale and Harvard."

Locey runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds. He missed last season with an ACL injury but should bounce back in good condition in his senior year. As a sophomore he passed for 1,500 yards and was ranked the number three passer in the Washington D.C. area.
"I took a visit to Notre Dame, and I had been really high on them before. But when I got there it just hit me how stacked they were at quarterback. Ben Olsen and Brady Quinn are both young guys they've brought in, and they told me they weren't going to recruit a quarterback this year. Florida is a similar situation. They brought in Chris Leak and have a lot of young guys there. I heard Patrick Dosh was transferring, so that might make things look a little better. If I redshirted there would be two years between Leak and myself.
"UVA has expressed a lot of interest in me and they've told me that they're recruiting two quarterbacks this year. They've come by my school and talked to my coaches. I'm also hearing from Ivy League schools."
Locey has scored a 1370 on the SAT, and his grades round out to the equivalent of a 3.75 GPA.
"I'm going to camp at UVA, Yale, Harvard, Duke, Maryland and maybe Northwestern this summer. I took a trip to Northwestern recently and their coaches are great. Other than Northwestern and Notre Dame I've been to Florida and a spring practice at UVA. I talked to the coaches for a bit and was with my coach, so we got a good look at everything."
Locey has not received any scholarship offers as of yet.
