Virginia picks up three-star OT

Earlier this evening, Virginia added some major help on the offensive line by picking up a commitment from Cresco (Pa.) East Stroudsburg South offensive tackle Corey Lewis. The 6-foot-6, 278-pounder selected the Cavaliers over offers from Akron, Connecticut and Temple.
"I committed at around 6:30 tonight," he said. "I talked to Al Groh, Mike Groh, coach Price, London and the rest of the staff.

"They were really excited and said I'm a big help to the team. After I told them I committed, they told me that they have a tackle for two more years at my position and after my redshirt freshman year I'll have a great shot to play. Redshirting is definitely ok with me and maybe if I come in and work hard I can get on the field."
The three-star prospect broke down why he chose to head to Charlottesville.
"I really liked the whole academic standpoint," he said. "My parents are all about the academics at the next level and after visiting last week I know I have the opportunity to get a good job from there.
"I also am friends with Peter Lalich and J'Courtney Williams. Those guys really welcome me there along with Chris Long. I talked to them for a bit and I enjoyed my stay and liked the atmosphere. Overall I can tell those guys gel on the line and I can't lose, it's a great chance for me to get to the NFL and a good school from an academic standpoint."
Of course, the coaches were big in his decision too.
"Coach Price is a real strong guy," he said. "I liked coach Groh a lot too. He's straight-forward with you and to the point and then coach London is a best friend kind of guy. Those guys are like family there."
Lewis confirmed his recruitment is over and now is looking forward to heading to Virginia.
"I'm just real happy to be a Cavalier," he said. "Now I can focus on my high school and get ready for college, learning my playbook."
