Virginia lands sweet 16

Virginia is the hottest school in the country on the recruiting trail. They have added two commitments in the past two days and they have added a third on the third day.
Virginia Beach (Va.) Salem defensive end Antonio Appleby has become the sixteenth member of Virginia's 2005 recruiting class.

"He visited this weekend and just fell in love with the place," said Antonio's father, Tony Appleby, of his 6-foot-4, 240-pound son who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds.
Appleby had already visited Penn State, North Carolina, NC State, and Virginia tech before taking the visit to Virginia.
"He was just impressed with the school has to offer in full. The coaches, the football program, and the academics. We talked it over last night with his coach and he was ready to make his decision," said his father.
Appleby chose Virginia over offers from West Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina.
