Virginia lands important recruit

The Virginia Cavaliers are starting to put the pieces together on another Top 10 recruiting class. Their latest commitment will certainly help.
"I'm committing to Virginia tomorrow night," said 6-foot-0, 190-pound wideout Shannon Lane. "I talked it over with my family and we all feel that UVA is the best place for me. I'm going to commit to coach Prince tomorrow when he comes to my house."

This is a huge pickup for the Cavs as Lane is the No. 6 player in the state and has the size and speed to play wideout or cornerback in college.
"My visit was nice," he said. "I was hosted by Kai Parham and Darryl Blackstock. I know Kai really well from Princess Anne. He and I are good friends."
Lane chose Virginia over Boston College, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and others. He will cancel his official visit to Tech set for this weekend.
"BC was a great place, but Virginia is home," he said. "And Virginia just fits me better than Tech does."
