Size and speed: Pond is 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in about 4.8 seconds.
Honors: Pond was named all-region, all-district, all-Tidewater and second-team all-state.
Statistics: Pond passed for nearly 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior.
Favorite schools: Virginia Tech, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Clemson
Skinny: Pond is one of the top passers in Virginia for 2004 and has been a life-long Hokie fan because his mom attended the school.
"I've always followed Tech so I'm hoping they'll be one of the schools to offer me early," he said. "I don't have any offers yet, but my coach tells me there have been a lot of game film requests. I'm interested in anyone who is interested in me right now, I'm interested in a bunch of teams.
Pond is also considered to be one of the top high school baseball players in the country and rumors have circulated that he may be drafted after his senior season.
"I'll see what happens," he said. "I like baseball as well as football but right now I'm not worried about all that yet. I have a long time before any decisions need to be made if I even have that option. Right now I'm looking forward to next football season."
