Virginia DE waiting for offers

Defensive end Chris Johnson out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Tallwood made one last stop this summer. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder made a trip to Chapel Hill to check out North Carolina.
"It was totally different than it was last year," he said. "It's a completely different coaching staff and they had a lot of new drills. I learned more technique.

"The coaches from North Carolina didn't talk to me that much. They said they were kind of laid back on the recruiting process and it'll pick up during the season. As far as the staff, they got one hell of a coaching staff. Even the assistants are really good and know what they are doing."
Although he has yet to confirm it, Johnson believes Syracuse is on the verge of offering.
Currently Maryland is leading for the two-star prospect.
"If I go there I think I can make a big impact on their team," he said. "I love all of their coaches and they are real friendly. They know what they're talking about and if they offered it'd be pretty likely I'd commit. They are waiting to see how much bigger and faster I get this year before offering."
In the meantime, Johnson is waiting for other schools to offer including Virginia Tech, Virginia and Marshall.
