Virginia DE visits Maryland

Spotsylvania, Va. defensive end Quartez Carter took one unofficial visit in the past month to nearby Maryland. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder is also starting to make plans for this summer.
"I went to Maryland for their spring game," he said. "It was a nice visit. There were a lot of fans there.

"I thought the defensive ends played well. They are pretty good. I got to talk to the tight end and defensive coach as well as Coach Friedgen. It was pretty cool talking to all of them. They talked to me about camp and trying to get me to come up there.
"They didn't get into offering really, but just told me to come up for camp."
Carter is looking at more visits in the near future.
"My coach is working out to visit JMU and Old Dominion soon," he said. "Then I'm going to try to go to as many camps as I can this summer.
"I've heard from Virginia, Liberty, Tennessee and Maryland the most."
