Virginia DE high on in-state schools

Woodbridge (Va.) Gar-Field defensive end Clint Sintim has offers from all five of his favorite schools. However, the two in-state programs currently have the lead.
"Right now my favorites are Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Maryland and Syracuse," said the 6-foot-3, 254-pounder. "They've all offered, but right now my favorites are Virginia and Virginia Tech because they're close. Virginia is less than two hours away and Tech is around four hours. I know more about each school. Coach Al Golden is recruiting me for UVA and Bud Foster for Tech."

Sintim is being recruited as a linebacker by UVA and as a defensive end by all of his other favorites. Does it matter?
"Nope, I could play either," said Sintim. "I like the idea of taking on blockers as a defensive end or running free and making plays as a linebacker."
Sintim has led his team to a 1-1 record so far. He has 12 tackles and a sack while facing constant double teams. He hasn't set any official visits yet.
"I'll start doing that soon I think," he said. "I might go to the Virginia-Wake game if I can this weekend, but I will also take all five officials. I want to see Ohio State, Syracuse, Maryland and Virginia Tech up close."
Sintim admits he was close to making a commitment as recently as a few weeks ago.
"I almost committed to Virginia because I really like it there, but I decided to take my time and see these other places. I need to compare first."
