Virginia ATH is one to watch

Athlete Kenay Hawks put together an impressive season for Virginia Beach (Va.) Princess Anne last year. The 5-foot-9, 175-pounder played numerous positions on both sides of the ball for the school and will likely lead to interest from colleges in the near future.
"Our team was 1-9 last year," he said. "I played quarterback, running back, wide receiver, strong safety, free safety and linebacker. I finished with 82 tackles and two interceptions. I also had three or four touchdowns on offense.

"The season was up and down for us. We had a lot of twists and turns, but came together to get a win at the end of the season and that should lead to a good start next year."
What stands out about Hawks as a player?
"My hustle is the big thing," he said. "I make people fit around me and help them work together.
"I understand I probably need to work more on my speed and get my footwork better. Of course I should get bigger, stronger and faster too."
Recruiting is just starting up for Hawks at this time. Is there an early favorite?
"For football I'm a West Virginia fan," he said. "I like their style of play. They are hard-hitting and run the ball. They are a fun team to watch.
"In general, I'm looking for a college with a good atmosphere and not too many students. I want to get individual attention. I'd like to stay in-state too, but if I have to go out I will."
