Virgil to visit VT this weekend

Rocky Mount (N.C.) athlete Stephan Virgil has his team off to a 5-0 start posting a 36-0 victory over Tarboro last Friday night. Virgil, a first team all-state selection on both sides of the football as a junior, appears to be one of the sleeper prospects starting to gain some momentum in the Tar Heel State.
“I’ve got offers from North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest,” explained Virgil. “I’m starting to hear from a lot of schools and have a top eight in no particular order of Clemson, East Carolina, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.”

Virgil is happy with his team’s fast start to the 2004 campaign, and feels he and his teammates haven’t missed a step since last season.
“I feel great on the field right now,” admitted Virgil. “We’ve picked up right where we left off last season. “I haven’t played my best game yet, but I’m getting better and better each week on the field.”
Virgil has scheduled his first official visit to come this weekend.
“I’ll be in Blacksburg on an official visit to check out Virginia Tech against West Virginia,” stated Virgil. “I tried to make it the North Carolina State game this past weekend, but I had to take my ACT’s on Saturday. I’m looking forward to the trip.”
While Virgil has listed a top eight, he appears to have at least three other schools in mind for official visits.
“I haven’t set any dates just yet, but I think I’ll visit Clemson, North Carolina, and South Carolina,” Virgil admitted. “I’ll decide on a fifth visit from the remaining schools in my top eight.”
Virgil and Rocky Mount are on a bye this week and will return to action against Rose in two weeks.
