Vilain impresses Ohio State

Four-star Ottawa, Canada 2017 defensive end Luiji Vilain holds five early offers, and he went to Ohio State's Friday Night Lights Camp in hopes of earning another.
"I got to go against some really good competition," Vilain said. "I was up-close with the coaches and the players, I got some good feedback from Coach (Larry) Johnson. I tried asking him what I should do to get better and he said, 'Nothing. Just keep doing what you're doing.'"

Friday was not Vilain's first visit to Ohio State, but it did reinforce his interest in the Buckeyes.
"Ohio State is one of the schools that when it is all said and done I would like to be in my top three or top five," Vilain said. "It's a really great school with one of the best coaches in the country. They just won the national championship and have great tradition. Their resume speaks for itself."
In order to have Ohio State as an option when the time comes for him to make a decision, the Buckeyes have to offer Vilain first. That is a possibility he is optimistic about occurring in the near future.
"Coach Johnson told me to call him on Monday and I'll talk to him about that hopefully," Vilain said.
Vilain made the visit to Ohio State with fellow Canadian natives Patrice Rene and Jonathan Sutherland. He will join those two permanently this fall when he transfers to a new high school in the United States.
"I am going to Episcopal High School in Virginia with Jonathan and Patrice," Vilain said. "I am every excited. I get to get away from home, play with my friends and it's a great opportunity to play some good football."
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Vilain was ranked as the No. 150 player in the first Rivals250 for the 2017 class. He also checks in as the No. 2 ranked weakside defensive end in the class.
