Very Busy Month For Talented RB

Apopka, Fla. running back Alan Abrams had a busy month of May but now the talented 5-foot-11, 186-pound standout can relax a bit.
“Alan had a pretty productive spring,” said his father, Alan Sr. “He played pretty well in Apopka’s Blue-White intrasquad game (18 carries for 170 yards) and even better in the spring jamboree (23 carries for around 175 yards and a score).”

It was also busy for Abrams off the field as well.
“As expected, several schools came by to visit the school in May,” his father said. “Miami, LSU, Wake Forest, Purdue, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and some others all came by. He has offers from LSU, Purdue, Wake Forest and Indiana so far.”
Abrams list of top teams is now at eight.
“I would say it’s Miami, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, Wake Forest and Purdue,” Abrams Sr. said. “The first five schools have been constants from the beginning but South Carolina also jumped in pretty early and Wake and Purdue just got in with their offers.”
So who leads?
“It would be pretty safe to say that he is a slight Miami lean, but he also likes the others a lot. I don’t see him committing early at all. He’s set on taking his time and keeping his options open.”
Abrams, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds, helped Apopka to the Class 6A state championship with 960 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. Apopka operates out of a wing-T running attack, and they turned to Abrams late in the season to have him carry the load to the state title game.
