Versatile WR headed to Wake Forest

Wake Forest added some help at wide receiver with the addition of Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County prospect Danny Dembry. The 6-foot-3, 182-pounder selected the Demon Deacons over offers from Kentucky, East Carolina and South Carolina.
"I actually committed to Wake Forest on Friday," he said. "I committed to coach Billings and Jim Grobe. They both knew I was going to commit because I was just waiting for the offer. After I gave them my commit, they told me to get ready to come in next year."

Dembry picked Wake Forest for a few reasons.
"I really like everything about them," he said. "They have everything I'm looking for, a perfect offense that fits me, a great school academically and a good program.
"The coaches told me that they'll utilize me in trick plays with my ability to pass. I also like the academics. They graduate most of their players. Finally, they are a program on the rise. The coaches look like they'll be there for a long time and it looks like I can make an impact when I get there."
The coaches were a factor for the two-star prospect as well.
"I dealt with coach Billings a lot," he said. "I like him. He's a down-to-earth type of guy that is straight forward and fun to hang around. Coach Grobe is the same type of person, someone I can easily talk to."
As far as playing time, Dembry will get a chance to compete as soon as he arrives in Winston-Salem.
"If I work hard, the coaches told me I'll likely have a chance to play next year. They are primarily looking at me as a wide receiver, but would also consider me at safety and quarterback."
