Versatile Star Open On Teams Position

Lake Ridge (Va.) Woodbridge running back/linebacker James Terry isn’t sure where he’s going to play his college football or what position he’ll play when he gets there.
“I have an offer from Virginia and they seem to want me as a running back,” said the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder. “I’m also being recruited by Maryland, Clemson, Syracuse, Pitt, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. Maryland and Tech are the only ones who want me strictly as a linebacker but it doesn’t matter to me.”

Despite missing four games as a junior due to an ankle injury, Terry rushed for more than 700 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense and had more than 70 tackles on defense. Although his team went 2-8 last season, Terry has caught the attention of many recruiters.
“A lot of teams have come to my school this past month,” said Terry, who bench presses 360 pounds, squats 515 and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds. “I’m going to take my time and take my official visits. You could say that I like Virginia the best now, but they’re also the school I know the best. I’m going to camp there and probably at Virginia Tech.”
