Fairfax (Va.) Robinson wide receiver Chase Anastacio grew up as fan of the University of North Carolina, but his interest in the Tar Heels seems to have faded over the years.
“I always wanted to go to North Carolina,” Anastacio said. “But now I’m looking at other schools.”
Anastacio’s list of favorites now includes Penn State, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Notre Dame.
“But I’m not ruling anyone (else) out,” said Anastacio, a 6-foot-2, 190-pounder who is being projected at safety by many colleges. “Location isn’t a factor (on where he attends school).”
Anastacio, who has received offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Maryland and Syracuse, is also attracting interest from, among others, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Marshall and Michigan State. He said he offers might be coming soon from Notre Dame and Stanford.
“After May, I’m going to sit down with my coach and parents and talk things through,” said Anastacio, who hopes to trim his list of schools to a reasonable number. “I’m not in any hurry, though, to make a decision.”
