Versatile sleeper ATH emerging in DC

Although he didn't play football this past season, colleges are keeping tabs on a 6-foot-0, 185-pounder in the mid-Atlantic. The versatile prospect is getting looks from teams across the East Coast. Who is he and does he have any favorites?
"He is an athlete," Washington (D.C.) H.D. Woodson assistant Wayne Johnson said of athlete Phillip Hawkins. "He's a great kid and a great football player. You can line him up as a linebacker, safety, cornerback, running back or quarterback. He can play every skill position and play it to 100%. I have no doubt he'll be an MVP. He actually reminds me a lot of Josh Morgan."

Hawkins missed last year as he focused on basketball.
"He did sit out last year, but now he has come back and is working out for football."
Colleges are aware of his skill according to the star prospect himself.
"I've been in contact with Pittsburgh, Georgia, West Virginia, Maryland and Syracuse," he said. "Everyone wants me to come to camp."
Does Hawkins like anyone in the early going?
"My favorite college is West Virginia," he said. "I just like their style of play and feel like I'd fit in there. I've been in touch with Coach Beatty."
According to Hawkins, most teams are looking at him as a wide receiver.
While he's focusing more on football this season, Hawkins isn't giving up the dream of basketball quite yet.
"I would love to play both sports and if there's a place I can play both that would be great."
