Versatile prospect Blake excited for Kansas State trip

Kansas State still has one scholarship open it can fill in the Class of 2019, but the Wildcats are also certainly working ahead on the Class of 2020.

Talented Los Angeles (Middlebrooks Academy) guard/wing Nick Blake could possibly provide an answer to either of those issues.

The 6-foot-6, three-star rated Blake is seen by some as a big time Class of 2020 recruit, but he could even slide up a year, still.

"I'm really looking into my options for both classes," Blake told KSO. "I'm not leaning more to one side than the other. Whichever option presents itself as the best as far as fit, opportunity and timing will be chosen. Whether it be the 20 or 19 class."

Blake is already loaded with offers, including ones from Colorado, Creighton, Nevada, UNLV, Washington State and a variety of others - including K-State.

It's Manhattan where Blake will visit this week.

"In the short time I've been in contact with their coaches, they've already made an effort to get to know me," Blake said. "So, I know they have great connections with their players and the K-State fan base and community. They've had great seasons in a row in a tough conference, so the improvement on the court really shows, because winning the Big 12 isn't easy."

Blake says he has no further visits lined up at the current time.

Blake says he's hearing from Bruce Weber, Chris Lowery and Brad Korn from K-State. He describes himself as an, "Athletic, tall, strong, guard that can play and score at all levels. I think I'm a great passer, and I can defend one through four."

There's no denying Blake offers a lot of promise, potential and versatility as a recruit.

In more ways than one.
