Versatile MD QB gets two more offers

Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly dual-threat quarterback Joe Haden has picked up two more offers. The 5-foot-11, 186-pounder with 4.46-second speed received the scholarships from the Big East and SEC.
"He's now got six offers from Virginia, North Carolina, Marshall, Rutgers and his newest ones are from Connecticut and Georgia," said Friendly head coach Marcus Berry. "I know he's still wide open and just wants to see how things go in combines and camps. He'll probably end up with about 40 offers unless he grows another inch or two and then he'll get even more."

Berry compared his star prospect to current Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith.
"Joe reminds me almost exactly of Troy Smith as he is a good passer and makes plays with his athleticism," he said. "He's a difference maker and I've even been told by one of Maryland's coaches.
"The one problem is that everybody harps on his size, but he has skills you just can't teach plus I believe he will grow some more anyway since his dad is like 6-foot-2. Beyond that, he's a ridiculous athlete that ran a 4.34-second 40 at the Nike Camp last year. I was a quarterback at West Virginia and he's just as good of a passer as I have ever been."
Berry confirmed that Haden already has plans to graduate in December.
Last season Haden accounted for over 2,400 yards of offense, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions.
