Vernaglia thinking twice

Orange (Cal.) Lutheran athlete Anthony Vernaglia has been committed to Notre Dame since August. However, the 6-foot-4, 218-pounder might be having second thoughts.
"Right now I'm still committed to Notre Dame, but I've been thinking things over of late," said Vernaglia. "I haven't decided to open up my recruiting or anything like that yet, but it's an option. I want to make sure I am completely satisfied with where I'm going and if some changes take place at ND, I might look around."

Vernaglia, who was reached just as he arrived home from the U.S. Amry All-American Bowl, wouldn't comment further on possible changes at Notre Dame or what he meant. Before he committed, there were a few other schools in the mix for his services.
"If I did open things back up, I'd look at some of those schools," he said. "Places like Virginia, Penn State and USC would be considered. But as of right now I don't have any official visits set with anyone else and I'm still committed to Notre Dame. That could change, but I just don't know yet."
