Vereen has two offers on the table

One of the most explosive athletes in the West region the last two years has been Valencia's (Calif.) Shane Vereen. Vereen has two offers on the table and is hearing from schools all over the country.
Few players are the all-purpose threat Vereen has been the last couple of seasons. Whether it's running the ball or catching it out of the backfield, the athlete has been putting up huge numbers since his sophomore year.

Vereen, 5-10, 180 pounds, earned 1st team all-state underclass honors as a sophomore after rushing for 1,399 yards and catching 55 ball for 727 yards. He topped those numbers this past year rushing for 1,638 yards and 28 touchdowns, catching 52 balls for 898 yards and seven touchdowns and again earned 1st team all-state underclass honors.
He added 43 tackles and three picks on defense and could play cornerback in college although we think running back is his best college position. The athlete has very good speed, great moves in the open field and as evidenced by his numbers, has great hands coming out of the backfield.
On the recruiting front, Vereen is holding offers from Oregon and Mississippi and is hearing from a host of schools from all over.
"Most of the Pac 10 is showing interest plus Notre Dame, LSU, Nebraska and Boston College," Vereen said. "I have the two offers and like both schools but I'm open to everyone right now. I don't have a top five list or anything, I just want to go through the process and see how everything plays out."
Vereen is strong academically carrying a 3.73 GPA and said he would like to major in Criminology. He'll attend the Nike camp at Stanford in May.
