While Los Angeles (Calif.) Verbum Dei has one of the best juniors in the Golden State it wouldn't be remissive if their talented senior defensive back/wide receiver Marquis Bradley (5-10, 200, 4.6) was overlooked.
Bradley has 70 tackles, four interceptions and one fumble recovery on defense. As a receiver, Bradley has hauled in 17 catches for 380 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 22.4 yards per catch.
"Defensively, Marquis reminds me of former Tennessee Titan Blaine Bishop," Verbum Dei coach Owen Brown said. "He's a head hunter."
"There's no question who's going to win the battle," Brown said. "Marquis is that good of a tackler."
"Marquis tackles like a linebacker," Brown said. "We have even thought about playing him at linebacker, he's a super talent."
"Offensively people have questions about his speed," Brown said. "But the he goes out there and burns people left and right on streaks, posts and corners."
"Marquis is one of those players who doesn't lose any speed in pads," Brown said. "He may not have burning 40-time but no one seems to be able catch him."
"Marquis is a football player," Brown said. "He makes plays on both sides of the ball for us.
Bradley has been flying below the recruiting radar until recently and now he is getting inquiries from Colorado State, Wyoming, UNLV, Nevada and Fresno State.
Look for more schools to show interest in Bradley if he continues on the pace he has bee showcasing during his big senior season.
