Venice RB great on and off field

Junior to Watch: Byron Ellis
School: Venice, Calif.

Position: Running Back.
Size and Speed: Ellis stands 6-foot-1, weighs in at 197 and runs the forty in 4.55. Ellis is an outstanding student who carries a perfect 4.0 GPA and he will take his SAT in April.
Honors: Ellis was selected first-team all-league and second-team all-city as a junior.
Statistics: Ellis rushed for 1,329 yards and scored 12 touchdowns for a team that loves to throw the ball.
Favorite Colleges: Lewis has already heard from Stanford, UCLA, Cal, USC, Arizona, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado, Penn State, Fresno State and many more. Lewis also hearing from the Academies and the Ivy League.
Skinny: Ellis is a quality back and a quality person. He is just as good in the classroom as he is on the gridiron. His academic standing allows him to be recruited by every college in the nation. Ellis is very coachable and is a Venice team leader.
As a running back he possesses great vision as quickness. When Venice runs the football, more than likely it is Lewis carrying the load.
“Byron is a young man who is destined for success,” Venice head coach Angelo Gasca said. “He is a special person with special qualities.”
“Byron has an unbelievable work ethic, and commitment to doing well in everything that he’s part of,” Gasca said. “He is respected by his teammates and his coaches, who are well aware of his exploits on and off the field.”
Lewis will attend football camps at USC, UCLA and Stanford. He lists as his early favorite college as Stanford, Cal, UCLA, Oregon, BYU and Harvard.
