Vegas athlete getting attention

The state of Nevada is having a very good crop of football players for the class of 2006. Most of them reside in the one of the nation's fastest growing cities, Las Vegas. One of Las Vegas newest schools Shadow Ridge could have six players who earn D-I scholarships.
One of them is middle linebacker/tight end Klay Dodds (6-4, 235, 4.67).

Dodds has a D-I body and frame already and plenty of athletic ability. He currently benches 285, squats 480 and cleans 310. He has also recorded a 29.5 vertical jump.
The scouting report on Dodds is be plays the game with intensity and passion.
"I just love the game of football," Dodds said. "I just can't get enough studying football. You can always get better."
"I like playing tight end, but I will most likely end up playing linebacker in college," Dodds said. "Because of my size, I better fit the position."
"It really doesn't matter," Dodds said. "Football is football."
Dodds is a very talented all-around athlete who besides going both ways, he also handles the place-kicking and punting duties for Shadow Ridge. He's also on the wrestling team.
Shadow Ridge tuned up for their opening against Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines by scrimmaging Las Vegas powerhouse Bishop Gorman.
"We held our own in that one," Dodds said. "It was a close scrimmage."
Dodds also has excellent football bloodlines his brother played for Utah. The Utes are one team that has shown interest in Dodds.
Hometown UNLV has also shown a lot of interest in Dodds and may be close to offering.
Colorado State, Stanford, Arizona State, and Wisconsin are also showing Dodds a lot of recruiting attention.
Dodds earned all-conference (HM) in 2004. He's also a superb student carrying a 3.6 GPA and a 1920 (new) SAT.
