Vedral sees the positives in the loss

Noah Vedral is a talented, junior quarterback from Wahoo (Nebr.) Bishop Neumann. The 6-foot-2 and 185-pound quarterback was in Lincoln for the Nebraska game. The Huskers opened up against BYU this weekend and Vedral got to town early enough to take a look around the school.
"We arrived about 12:15," Vedral said. "We met with the football secretary and got a tour of the new rennovations. We saw the weight room, the locker room, the tunnel, the horseshoe and coaches' offices. Then we ate and headed out to the field."

Vedral has been to Lincoln before to see a football game. In fact he's seen a number of games. This weekend was different because of it being the first game under new head coach Mike Riley. Vedral noticed some things that were different this weekend.
"There was one thing that I noticed," Vedral said. "There was a better aura with the team. The team was up to win, but not over the top. They were calm. It was like a calm before the storm."
Vedral came away impressed with the offense as a whole. He liked the scheme and the things that Mike Riley brings with him offensively. Obviously Nebraska lost on a last second Hail Mary pass, but Vedral -- like Mike Riley -- saw the good from the game.
"I really liked the scheme," Vedral said. "The offensive line was shaky at times. I liked the jet sweeps that Mike Riley is known for and the play action off of them. When things were timed right it worked.
"The run game wasn't there and the passing game was. It's like what Mike Riley said at the press conference that there are some good things about the game."
Bishop Neumann is off to a good start. They are perfect through their first two games with a difficult game coming this weekend according to Vedral.
"We are 2-0 right now," Vedral said. "We beat a very good Syracuse team the first week and we just beat Lincoln Christian. We play Catholic this weekd so we really have to get up for that one."
