Vea looks to show off skills

Vita Vea has outstanding junior film but not much else is known about the Milpitas, Calif., weak-side defensive end.
That could change after this weekend.

Vea, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive end who's a four-star prospect by Rivals.com, is expected to attend the Asante Trenchmen Academy which will be held on Friday and Saturday at Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) St. Paul.
Four-star offensive linemen Aaron Cochran and John Lopez along with Colin Sutton, Ziad Damanhoury and other top prospects are expected to work out at the lineman camp as well.
"I'm excited for it," Vea said. "I want to see where I'm at so far against some other talented players."
Vea's offer list is unclear but he's definitely hearing from some major programs across the country including some SEC programs.
Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame and Virginia are five schools that Vea named as now showing interest and he said USC, Oregon, Arizona, Oregon State, Cal, Tennessee, San Diego State and San Jose State are also involved.
It's still far too early for Vea to make any decisions but he said Oregon does stand out a little more than others because he has always followed the program.
The Northern California standout is hoping to take a visit to Oregon soon along with trips to Oregon State, USC and Arizona. After those trips, Vea could have a better idea where his recruitment is headed.
"Oregon is the favorite right now," Vea said. "I just started liking them when I was younger because my cousin went there."
Vea comes in at No. 237 in the early 2013 rankings.
