Vaughns prepared for decision

Tyler Vaughns was supposed to take important unofficial visits to Alabama and Georgia in recent weeks but those did not happen.
Still, the four-star receiver from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat plans to make his commitment on Aug. 19, wrapping up his recruitment before his senior season gets underway.

"I didn't get to go out there," Vaughns said. "I had to stay out here because of family stuff. I want it to happen but I'm not sure if it's going to happen."
The top-rated receiver in California by Rivals.com said there was a chance other unofficial visits could take place in the final weeks before his decision but Vaughns said he's not sure if that will be an option at this point.
That has to mean USC looks like a solid favorite for Vaughns heading into his choice in a few weeks but the Bishop Amat standout said he still remains open to all programs.
"To be honest, I don't know if any other visits are going to happen," Vaughns said.
The good news for the school that Vaughns picks on Aug. 19 is that he does not plan to take other official trips during his senior season.
The four-star did not get an opportunity to take an abundance of unofficial visits this spring and summer but Vaughns sounds like he'll be comfortable enough in his choice not to take trips once he wraps things up in mid-August.
"I'm still sticking with that day for my decision," Vaughns said. "I'll probably shut it down."
