Vaughns planning SEC trips

Tyler Vaughns is one of the best wide receivers in the 2016 class and he's expected to take two SEC trips this week.
The four-star receiver from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat has kept pushing back these visits because of prior obligations but it seems like now is the time for him to check out some other schools.

"I'm going (this) week," Vaughns said. "I had to change it because I didn't know we had this tournament.
"It's most likely going to be Alabama and Georgia."
Vaughns made those comments on Saturday at the Huntington Beach Surf City Passing Tournament. He had also considered a trip to Oklahoma but that does not look like it will happen.
Even though Vaughns has never said USC is the frontrunner many people believe that's the team to beat at this point as he's been to the campus numerous times including a stop for its recent Rising Stars Camp.
However, the Bishop Amat standout who's rated as the fourth-best receiver in the class said he remains open to everybody and he's especially had some good talks with Alabama assistant coach Tosh Lupoi recently.
"Right now I just want to see the campuses and everything," Vaughns said. "I want to check out the program and see if I could see myself fitting in there.
"(Alabama) has been talking to me a lot. I've been staying in touch with coach Lupoi almost every day. My 7on7 coach is out there and I was supposed to be out there but I had to stay here for the tournament. It's been a great talk with them.
"It's still really open. I'm still thinking about everything."
Vaughns plans to commit in late August before his senior season gets underway. He would like to take one more round of unofficial visits - he doesn't know any destinations yet - before making his decision.
