Vaughn is a player to watch

Recruiting is just starting to pick up for Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith wide receiver Melvin Vaughn. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder took a visit this past weekend to Virginia and is beginning to get some looks.
"I just went to junior day at Virginia on Saturday," he said. "The coaches there didn't really say much since they had a lot of kids there, but I think Virginia is the best school. I don't think any other choice would be better. I picture myself waking up there every morning cause it seems like home already.

"It was my first time going there. I talked to the coaches mainly about the offense they run."
Vaughn is getting other interest from Hampton so far.
It seems obvious that Virginia is the favorite, but why?
"I like the offense and their school offers a lot of tutoring sessions. The players have got to be smart. Also, the campus is close to home."
Vaughn earned first team all-state honors as a junior after posting over 30 receptions and nine touchdowns last season.
"I'm real aggressive and I like to make contact," he said. "I don't run away from contact. I extend the play and fight for yards."
