Vandy lands a dandy

Vandy lands a dandy. The Commodores helped their cause along the front trenches when offensive lineman Tom Sorensen (6-4, 285, 5.2) from Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton told Vanderbilt head coach Bobby Johnson that he has accepted Johnson’s scholarship offer to play football and attend Vanderbilt University.
The Commodores get a player who is a true center prospect and is also an outstanding long snapper. He has great balance and always keeps his feet moving. Sorensen always gets the first step on his opponent and has great leg drive.

Sorensen won linemen of the camp two-years in a row when he attended the BYU camp. He was also honored with the linemen of the camp award this past summer (2002) while camping with the Utah Utes.
Sorensen’s best days on the gridiron are ahead of him. He has good strength with his 335-pound bench and 455-pound squat.
The Commodores win the services of this talented sleeper over other offers from Air Force, Louisville, Utah, and Utah State
