Vanderbilt working hard to keep 3-star LB Devyn Curtis home

Class of 2020 three-star Tennessee linebacker Devyn Curtis is coming to a crossroads in his recruitment. He has more than his fair share of offers, but other schools are still looking to evaluate him and possibly join the mix. Does he continue working out for schools in hopes of adding more options, or focus in on the schools that have already made him a priority. As he sorts out his options with his family, one thing is for sure, hometown program Vanderbilt remains heavily involved. Rivals.com caught up with Curtis to talk about the Commodores, as well as his upcoming plans.

"I haven't really decided when and where I'm going to take my official visits yet. I'm working on that with my parents right now. Hopefully I'll start to narrow it down in the next week or so. All the schools have been doing a good job of keeping in touch and recruiting me so that's making it hard."

Last visit: "I took a trip to Vanderbilt late last month. It was a good visit."

Thoughts on the trip: "It was just like a family environment. It was cool just seeing the coaches and their families and just hanging out with them as people rather than in a camp setting where we're just working out."

Hometown school: "Yes they're telling me I can be the hometown hero. I like the idea of that. I just saw JoeJuan Williams do it so that just adds to it. My mom was with me on the visit and she likes the idea of me staying close to home but she went to South Carolina so she always slides that in there, too."

South Carolina: "I haven't been on a visit there since last year. Hopefully I'll be back there sometime soon."

Camps/Visits: "A lot of schools have invited me to camp but I'm not sure if they want me there so they can offer me, or if they just want to see me work of if they just want to get my money. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do in terms of camping."
