Vanderbilt Raiding Massachusetts

The talent in New England always seems to be underrated and the Vanderbilt football program is targeting one paticular Massachusetts school. The Commodores just received their second commitment from one of the top programs in the Bay State.
"I committed to Vanderbilt late last week," said Danvers (Mass.) St. John's Prep linebacker Jonathan Goff. "I had an offer from Wisconsin as well and I was being recruited by Stanford, Boston College and some others as well. I just felt I wanted to be part of something special at Vanderbilt."

Goff, a 6-foot-2, 215-pounder who plays everything from quarterback to wide receiver to safety for his high school team, feels that Vanderbilt offers him the best of everything.
"It gives me a chance to play Division One football and get a great education," he said. "I also like the area and they're re-building with this recruiting class. They really want to bring in a great class to build for the future."
Goff joins teammate Jonathan Loyte as a Vandy commitment.
"His commitment didn't have anything to do with it, but it's an added bonus," he said of the talented tight end. "We happened to visit Vanderbilt the same weekend last summer but it was a coincidence. We both liked the school for different reasons."
