Vanderbilt has impressed Murphy

Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly cornerback Alameen Murphy has been hearing from Vanderbilt a lot and the SEC school has his attention. A number of other schools have also stopped by to check on the cornerback this spring.
Assistants from Arizona, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Stanford and several others have visited Friendly during the spring and that is a pretty good indicator of which schools are most interested.

"Vanderbilt's been recruiting me pretty hard. Stanford gave me the early offer and they've been staying on me pretty hard. Wake Forest has been recruiting me hard and also Georgia Tech."
Of those schools the only one he has visited is Vanderbilt. The 5-foot-10, 181-pound corner has a lot of respect for what James Franklin has been able to do in a short period of time.
"I like Vanderbilt a lot," Murphy said. "I like the connection I have with coach Franklin and the players there. They seem very happy and it's a good program.
"I realized how they built the program from kinda the bottom. They weren't really that good and he's been building them up. That was very impressive to me."
Maryland, Murphy's home state school, is the latest school to offer Murphy.
