Vance visits Michigan; sees MSU next

Junior wide receiver Demetric Vance has been a standout performer on a deep Detroit Cass Tech team this fall, and he's looking to capitalize on the recruiting trail.
Vance has been proactive in his recruiting process, planning and taking college game visits this season.

"I just went to the Michigan game (Saturday)," Vance said. "It was a good experience to see Michigan finally come out with a win."
Contact with Michigan outside of that game visits has been limited thus far in Vance's recruitment, but he has been hearing from Michigan State and expects to visit them next.
"Coach (Curtis) Blackwell has been checking on me, telling me he likes my film and I have been getting a couple of letters," Vance said. "I think a couple of the players, coaches and I are planning on going up there when they play Michigan."
A three-star prospect ranked as the No. 13 player in the state of Michigan for 2016, Vance holds one offer and it is from N.C. State. He does not expect to be able to get down to Raleigh to see a game this fall but continues to see strong interest from The Wolfpack.
"I talk to the coach and they send me a lot of mail," Vance said. "I watched a couple replays from when they played Florida State and I was impressed."
Measuring 6-foot-3 and 196 pounds, Vance played almost exclusively at wide receiver on the off-season camp circuit, but his play at safety this fall has sparked talk that his future may be on defense.
"Most of my coaches are telling me now I am about to start getting recruited more for safety," Vance said. "I like safety and I want to be whatever can help out the team."
Vance has contributed to a perfect 7-0 Cass Tech record by catching two touchdown passes on offense and recording one interception on defense.
