Vance seeing interest at new position

Detroit Cass Tech's Demetric Vance had success on both sides of the football during his junior season and his versatility could pull more schools in.
"I have just the N.C. State (offer), but Wake Forest said they are ready to pull the trigger and Michigan State," Vance said. "Most of them are talking just safety. I like wide receiver, but I favor safety more."

The 6-foot-3, 196-pound Vance had 61 tackles and an interception playing safety this fall, while adding three touchdown receptions on offense.
One of the schools that could target Vance for the defensive side of the football is Michigan State, where he visited last month.
"The last time I visited was the Ohio State (game)," Vance said. "They were telling me if I get up there, they might offer me. Coach (Terry) Samuel came to the school that last week and told me I should come up there."
Vance was unable to make the Spartans recruiting day this past weekend, but expects to attend a basketball game in East Lansing in the near future.
"I have a lot of interest," Vance said. "I just like Michigan State as a whole - their defense and the way they play."
Outside of Michigan State, Vance said other schools he will likely visit this winter are Michigan and Ohio State. He has not spoken with N.C. State in some time, but plans to give them a call soon.
