Vance checks out a Michigan practice

Three-star safety Demetric Vance joined several of his Detroit Cass Tech teammates Thursday for a visit to Michigan to see the Wolverine's spring practice.
"It was the first time I seen them practice, so that was pretty cool," Vance said. "I saw our old (Cass Tech) players and talked to some of the coaches. It seemed like they were having a bunch of fun and playing physical ball."

Michigan has not specified where in their defensive backfield they project the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Vance, so he watched the entire unit during practice.
"I know they could put me at the nickel," Vance said. "We got there kind of late so we didn't get to see their DB drills. We just saw them scrimmaging each other. I just liked the atmosphere."
Michigan offered Vance in February during a previous visit to Ann Arbor, and the Detroit native has stayed in regular contact with that staff since.
"It's a real good relationship going on," Vance said. "I talk with Coach (Greg) Jackson, Coach (Chris) Singletary and Coach (Tyrone) Wheatley."
Prior to Michigan, Vance's most recent visit was to Penn State earlier this month. He is looking to visit Ohio State and Tennessee this spring as well, but does not have exact dates locked down for those trips.
A three-star prospect who is ranked as the No. 54 safety in the 2016 class, Vance holds a total of 13 scholarship offers.
"Right now they are all kind of balanced," Vance said. "I was looking to probably (commit) before my senior season, more in the summer."
Vance transitioned from wide receiver to safety during his junior season and finished with 61 tackles and an interception.
