Van home to another prospect

Van (Texas) had an outstanding defense last year en route to a 10-2 record and the second round of the state playoffs. Much of the success was attributed to Texas signee and Under Armour All-American linebacker Dalton Santos but the Vandals had some other talent on the field as well.
Defensive tackle Sydrick Moore had a very productive junior season and now the 6-foot-2, 265-pound defender is starting to receive attention of his own. In fact, he recently picked up his first offer.

"SMU has offered me," Moore said on Wednesday evening. "I actually just got off the phone with him."
In addition to the Mustangs, Moore has been in contact with a few other programs as well.
"I've talked to TCU and SMU," he said. "Texas Tech called me last night. Washington State called me. I've talked to a few other colleges too."
Moore has yet to make any unofficial visits to college campuses but he plans to change that in the very near future.
"I'm going to go visit SMU on (March) 24," he said. "There's a junior day there on that day. That's the only one I have scheduled for right now."
With the recruiting process having just started for Moore, he is hesitant to name any favorites. While he does admit that one school has caught his eye, he is keeping all of his options open.
"I've talked to Arkansas a bit," he said. "They called me last Friday. They want to see more film on me. I like them. Other than that I haven't really thought too much about any particular schools."
Moore was an all-district selection this past season after tallying 96 tackles, 38 tackles for loss and eight sacks in addition to playing fullback on offense.
