Valuable trip for five-star CB

Minkah Fitzpatrick just took a valuable swing through four schools in the South and picked up important information as his recruitment continues.
The five-star cornerback from Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep recently returned from Georgia, Florida State, Florida and Miami and all four offered something he likes.

"Everybody stood out in their own way," said Fitzpatrick, one of the top performers last weekend at the Pylon Sports 7on7 in Las Vegas. "With Georgia it was coach (Jeremy) Pruitt. He's a great defensive coordinator and I really like the way he runs his defense."
At Miami, Fitzpatrick said he liked many things including the coaching staff's connections to the Northeast and their willingness to recruit that area of the country.
"It is a factor because a lot of the coaches are from the Northeast region," Fitzpatrick said. "I like that they recruit that area pretty hard and that is a factor for them."
Rated as the second-best cornerback in the 2015 class and ninth overall by Rivals.com, the St. Peter's Prep star had a rave review for Florida State - where he plans to return for another trip soon - and Florida defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson.
"Florida State, when I went on their campus it felt like home," Fitzpatrick said. "I felt really comfortable there. I could see myself being there for four years.
"At Florida, coach T-Rob has a great mind for defensive backs and I just feel like I could become the best defensive back getting coaching from there."
Trips are nowhere near done for the five-star cornerback.
Fitzpatrick plans to go back to Florida State again possibly for spring practice. Alabama will also receive a trip and South Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan and others could be in the running for one as well.
