VA sleeper RB putting together a huge year

The Commonwealth is stacked with running back talent in the 2009 recruiting class with four-star prospects David Wilson and De'Antwan Williams along with numerous other Division I recruits. One player nobody knows about though is in southern Virginia at Patrick County High School.
"Through four games this season he has over 1,100-yards and 14 touchdowns," Patrick County head coach Brad Dalton said about running back John Harris. "He's had over 350-yards rushing the past couple games.

"He had 3,900-yards and about 40 touchdowns coming into this season and is a three-year starter for us. He's also had kickoff returns of 65, 75 and 94-yards. If he gets above 6,500-yards this season he'll be a top ten rusher all-time in the state of Virginia."
Has anything changed for Harris this year compared to previous seasons?
"I think his maturity is even more, he's worked hard in the weight room and his body has matured," he said. "He's also seeing things a little better. His vision is better."
What about Harris off the field?
"He's a good kid. He's good all-around and down-to-earth."
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder is reportedly already qualified. Despite that, he only holds one offer from VMI.
"Apparently he is still under the radar," he said. "Virginia Tech took a look at him and has known about him since his freshman year. They have limited scholarships, so they don't have room.
"VMI has offered and JMU is fairly limited this year. I am sending out tapes very soon to other schools."
Is there any reason Harris hasn't received interest?
"I have no idea why he hasn't," Dalton said. "You'd think those numbers would interest schools. I've been surprised. I think he is open to any school coming in."
