VA safety schedules a second official

Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes safety Shamarko Thomas already took one official visit in October. The 5-foot-11, 192-pounder plans to take his second official this weekend. Does he have any leaders?
"North Carolina State, Connecticut, UMass and Syracuse have come in and showed a lot of interest," he said. "They are all talking about offering.

"They all tell me they love how I play and we're going to send highlight tape to them."
Thomas plans to visit one of them this week.
"I'm going up to Connecticut this weekend for an official. That is the only official coming up."
Currently the two-star prospect holds offers from Louisville, Richmond, Marshall and Old Dominion. Are there any favorites?
"The top schools are the people that offered me, I like Old Dominion and Marshall a bit," he said. "They have stuck with me and don't care how tall I am, they see how hard I work."
Thomas was a big part of the reason Ocean Lakes finished with a 12-1 record on the year.
"I earned all-district and all-Tidewater," he said. "I had over 100 tackles, six interceptions and two touchdowns and around 800 or 900 yards rushing.
"I definitely saw an improvement this year. I read the ball better, I was smarter, faster and had more agility. I think I could have done better, but I'm satisfied and ready for college now."
