Fredericksburg (Va.) Chancellor defensive end Clinton Simpkins holds four offers. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder is beginning to work on official visits. Simpkins already knows one school that will receive a trip.
"Recruiting has kind of slowed down," he said. "I am starting to look into official visits.
"I know Kentucky for sure will get one of my trips. I don't know what game I'm going to yet.
"I want to get there because I've gone everywhere else. I don't know a lot about them and I want to compare Kentucky to everything else."
The three-star prospect believes he will take more officials in the future.
"Most likely I will try to visit all of the schools that have offered me (NC State, East Carolina and West Virginia)."
At this time, Simpkins claims there isn't a leader.
"Nobody sticks out, nobody has taken the lead. I'm looking at all of the schools."
The No. 29 prospect in Virginia is preparing for the season.
"I think we're going to do very well in the district," he stated. "Everyone is stronger and better.
"I think I've gotten stronger and faster this season. I learned a lot over the summer that should help me even more this fall."
