Va. back looking at two Midwest schools

Vienna (Va.) Oakton running back Keith Payne is one of the top big backs in the state of Virginia. But the 6-foot-2 and 220 pounder also has good speed and can go the distance.
Payne rushed for 1000 yards during his junior season. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry and scored 17 times on the ground and twice more through the air.
Payne is of course drawing plenty of interest from his home state schools, but plenty of others as well, including two in the Midwest, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
"I have one offer," Payne said. "Virginia Tech offered.
"Maryland, Virginia, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Ohio State, Penn State, North Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee, I get mail from all of them.
"A lot of them talked to my coach, but they haven't called me yet. I'm interested in all of them. I don't have a favorite."
Asked about the two Midwest schools he mentioned, Notre Dame and Ohio State, Payne said, "I get letters from both of them. I don't know too much about them yet, but I've watched both of them on T.V."
