VA athlete claims one offer

One offer is already in for Lynchburg (Va.) Brookville cornerback Lorenzo Smith. The 5-foot-9, 170-pounder is getting looks from a number of other schools as well.
"Richmond has offered me," he said. "I like them, but I'm just trying to find somewhere I fit in and can contribute the most.

"A bunch of other schools recruiting me the most include Maryland, Virginia Tech and Old Dominion. I've been getting letters from Tennessee and Wake Forest as well. Most of those schools are telling me I need to come to camp so they can evaluate me more especially since I'm a little on the small side."
With that in mind, where is Smith looking to camp?
"I have a bunch of camps I want to get in line, but nothing is set right now."
Does Smith like anybody?
"I like Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Richmond and Maryland," he stated. "I'd say I have the best chance to play at those four schools."
The Central Virginia prospect touched on what he is looking for in a college.
"I want to go somewhere that is not too far away, but not extremely close," he said. "I'm not sure on the academic part, but I want a good football program and a nice atmosphere."
Even though he starred at receiver last year where he posted 38 receptions for 536-yards and nine touchdowns on his way to all-district honors, Smith claims most schools are looking at him as a defensive back.
"I'm actually getting recruited more as a cornerback," he said. "I think what sticks out about me is my speed and quickness. Even though I'm a small guy, I'm not afraid of contact. I also consider myself a leader on the field."
