UW lands speedy corner

The Washington Huskies have landed a player who could come in and play right away for UW in cornerback Josh Okoebor (5-11, 175, 4.4) from San Bernardino (Calif.) San Bernardino Valley Junior College.
Husky defensive coordinator Phil Snow has been recruiting Okoebor for Washington.

“I had a great visit,” Okoebor said. “I committed to Washington on the first day of my visit.”
“I am going to sign a letter-of-intent as soon as I get it,” Okoebor said. “Washington is going to Fed Ex the paperwork.”
The Huskies land a very talented player who has 3x3 years of eligibility and someone who will enroll in spring and be able to participate in spring practice. He could petition for a medical redshirt and get another year, but getting that extra year doesn’t seem necessary.
The Dawgs want to free Okoebor from the pound and have him ready to contribute from spring ball on.
Okoebor had an outstanding sophomore season that saw him rack up 37 tackles, 19 deflected passes and three picks.
The scouting report on Okoebor is that he has a keen sense for the football. Wherever the football is, Okoebor will soon be on the seen.
Okoebor has tremendous speed. He told Rivals.com that he has run a 4.27 forty and that he runs a consistent 4.3-to-4.4.
Okoebor is very athletic who has recorded a very explosive 38-inch vertical.
Huskies land a good one in Okoebor.
