UW lands fast rising athlete

The Washington Huskies landed one of Southern California’s hottest recruits when athlete prospect Mesphin Forrester (6-3, 195, 4.55) from Venice, Calif. “Mesphin liked the coaches, the city of Seattle and the opportunity to play in the Pac10,” Venice head coach Angelo Gasca said. “He’s very happy that he’s a Husky.”
“I just figured I really liked the trip,” Forrester said. “They have a really good football program and good academics so I just put one and two together and thought that Washington is the place for me.”

The Huskies get a player who really came on his senior season. He collected 102 tackles, six picks, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles ion 2003.
The Huskies win the services of Forrester over other offers from Oregon and Utah.
Other schools showing interest were UCLA, Cal, ASU and Washington State.
Forrester was one of the main reasons that Venice high had a successful 13-1 season.
Nice get for the Dawgs.
