UW, Iowa, and Purdue show interest in West

Position: Defensive back
Size and speed: West is 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.5 seconds.
Statistics: West played both safety and cornerback during his junior season and led Oak Creek in tackles with 92. He intercepted four passes.
Favorite Schools: Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, and Minnesota are some schools West will likely consider.
Skinny: West is one of the top defensive back prospects in the state of Wisconsin.
"The Badgers are looking at John as a cornerback," Oak Creek head coach Joe Koch said. "He could play either corner or safety in college."
"He's wide open. He's getting a lot of interest."
"Iowa likes him. Purdue, Minnesota, a lot of schools are showing interest."
