UVA out for Brian Roche

Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep offensive tackle Brian Roche was ready to commit to the Virginia Cavaliers last week. Now it seems that the 6-foot-6, 282-pounder will be delaying his decision for quite some time. Is UVA still in the picture?
"No, I'm not looking at them anymore," said Roche. "I spoke to them last week about committing, but I didn't really like what I heard on the other end of the phone. I won't go into it much more than that, but I'm not wide open again. I had sort of shut things down a bit when I thought I was going to Virginia. Now I have to start over."

Roche still has plenty of options with more than 20 offers.
"My new top schools are North Carolina, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Miami, Boston College, Stanford and Notre Dame," he said. "There's no order to that and I'd still like to get offers from Florida State, LSU and Michigan."
Roche, who took a tour of many ACC schools a few months back, might take some more unofficial visits soon.
"I hope to visit five or more teams this summer," he said. "A lot of them are close to each other, so it should be easy. I'd still like to commit early, but right now I'm leaning towards waiting."
Roche won't be camping anywhere this summer although his team will camp at Boston College and he'll be there.
"I'm not going to work out or anything, I'll just hang out."
Can Virginia get back into this battle?
"I don't think so," he said. "There are plenty of schools that seem interested in me and I want to go someplace where I will feel comfortable and welcome."
Roche has offers from all eight of his current favorites.
