UVA hauls in a wideout

The Virginia Cavaliers like to throw the football. Now they have another terrific wide receiver to haul in the rock.
"I committed to Virginia tonight," said Richmond (Va.) Hermitage wide receiver Fontel Mines. "It just felt right, I really like the school, players and coaches."

Mines had offers from both Virginia and Virginia Tech and took visits to each over the last three weekends. He liked both schools, but felt that Virginia was a better fit for him.
"I have a good relationship with Mike Groh, he recruited me and is also the wideout coach," he said. "I think I can step in right away and make a impact. They have great young talent and the team looks to have promising years ahead of them."
Mines, a 6-foot-5, 210-pounder, has been compared to current UVA wideout Billy McMullen.
"That's an honor to be compared to him," he said. "He's a great wideout and he and I spoke for a while on my visit."
