Virginia linebacker Andrew Bowman is hearing from several schools in the region because of his speed and tenacity as a linebacker. He has five leaders, but is one emerging over the rest?
"Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Clemson and Purdue are still my leaders," said Bowman. "They're all even at this point, but that could change any time.
"UVA, Tech and North Carolina are recruiting me the hardest probably, so that could pay off for them down the road. I think I could fit in with any of those five schools defensive schemes because I pick up on things pretty quickly. Each of the five schools I mentioned have offered, plus Duke, East Carolina and Richmond."
Bowman is a 6-foot-1, 220-pound inside linebacker from Richmond (Va.) Hermitage and combines great speed with good upper and lower body strength. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, bench presses 325 pounds and squats 500 pounds. With those numbers it's no wonder why so many schools are lining up to get in touch with him.
"I've got a camp at UVA coming up before too long," said Bowman. "That's the only one I'm really concentrating on right now since it's getting pretty close. Hopefully I'll get to talk to the coaches there a good amount and see what they think about me at this point."
