UTEP or Oregon St for Miller

In a somewhat of a recruiting surprise, UTEP was able to land one of the top receivers in the West region in Corona (Calif.) Centennial's Dashan Miller. Miller also visited Oregon State but said he felt the Miners were a better overall fit for him.
Miller, 6-0, 185 pounds had an early offer from Arizona State and took his recruiting visits to UTEP and Oregon State.

"When I tell people I chose UTEP over Oregon State, they look at me like I'm crazy," Miller said. "My thing is, I know UTEP doesn't play in as prestigious a conference as the Pac 10 but I think it's a great school and I had the best relationship with the coaches there over any other school.
"At Oregon State, I felt it was more about me as just a football player but UTEP made me feel like I was important as a person as well as a player. I felt like they really cared for me and would stand by no matter what was going on and that was the main reason I chose them.
"I think they're building something at UTEP and my goal is to help put the program in a position where in a few years, when someone chooses UTEP, instead of it being a surprise, people will think it's a no brainer because the school is doing so well. I like the idea of helping to put the program on the map and they're already getting there with Coach Price."
